The Clean Start diet plan is a medically supervised science-based program designed to enable you to reach your weight loss goals quickly and effectively, so that long-lasting results stick.

We’ve assembled this section based on the most common questions our clients bring to us during our initial consultations.

Q. Will I be hungry on the diet plan?

  1. No, you’ll often find it difficult to eat the daily maximum number of calories that you can eat. In fact, it is common that dieters on the diet plan feel as though they are stuffing themselves in order to reach that daily calorie limit!

You don’t feel hungry and run down because your body is now running on your fat reserves, and the hypothalamus is beginning to reprogram and reset your body to a new lower weight so that you maintain the weight loss and don’t experience a yo-yo effect. The diet combined with a low-calorie diet allows your body to shed off all the unnatural locked fat reserves and keeps your muscle and structural fat in order.

Q. Do I need to purchase any special food?

  1. No, all the food you can eat can be found at any grocery store. In fact, you will be eating healthy lean meats, green vegetables, and fruits every day as part of the diet protocol.

Q. Can men and women do it?

  1. Yes. The hormone is not a growth hormone therefore will not result in any side effects in men.

“The results I have seen are amazing. I was not hungry, I functioned fine and there were absolutely no side effects at all.”

Q. How come I’m not allowed to take vitamins since I will not be getting the appropriate amount of nutrients while on the diet?

  1. Most over the counter medications contain sugars, cornstarch and fillers that can interfere with your weight loss, which is why it is recommended to avoid these products while on the diet. You will be receiving additional vitamins from our B-Complex injections, and you are releasing nutrients from your abnormal fat stores as well.

Q. Will I lose my hair?

  1. Hair loss is a common occurrence when someone restricts their nutritional intake while dieting. So you may experience some hair loss, but not because of the hormone.

Q. Why is it through injections?

  1. After many tests, it has been found that injections are the most effective way to administer the hormone. The absorption rate is questionable when using any other method, and weight loss tends to be much slower.

Q. How big are the injections?

  1. We pre-load small insulin syringes with the hormone. The needles are very tiny and thin, and are painless.

Q. Why do I have to use oil free products?

  1. The hormone makes your system very sensitive, therefore anything you introduce to your body can affect weight loss. Using products with oils would be like eating them, so we recommend changing all your moisturizers (lip gloss, lotion, sunscreen and foundation) to oil free, water based and/or glycerin based.

Q. Why is it stopped at 43 days?

  1. Staying on the protocol too long will result in an immunity to the hormone, and you will start losing muscle and structural fat. This is the same reason why you have to take a break in between each round.

Q. Can my family physician just prescribe the hormone and I can do it on my own?

  1. Most family physicians have very little if any knowledge of the hormone diet and the science behind it. Also, studies show that people are most successful with losing weight when they are part of a program, and have the appropriate support. Our staff and physicians are very familiar with the protocol, and we do weekly consultations to ensure you have the support you need.

Q. Can I do this diet while breastfeeding?

  1. No. Safety is our number one priority and it is unknown if the hormone will transfer through your milk to your baby. So as a precaution, it is advised to do the diet once you have stopped nursing.

Q. What medical conditions would prevent me from doing the diet?

  1. The following are contraindications to the diet protocol: PCOS, uncontrolled thyroid issues, uncontrolled diabetes, cancer, low BMI and pregnancy. We test for all these conditions prior to the diet.

Q. Will my chance of pregnancy increase when on the hormone diet?

  1. Your chance of pregnancy does not increase, however if you become pregnant while on the hormone it may increase your chance of multiples. This is why we always recommend using two forms of birth control.
