Yes! There’s Variety in our Diet Recipes

You may have thought that the recipes for the diet are characterized by extreme deprivation and a complete lack of variety. Thankfully, this is not true!

Our Balm of Gilead Health & Wellness Center diet plan has many simple recipes that are easy to make, easy on the fats, and pleasing to the palate as well. Making this diet fun, interesting and giving yourself an abundance of choices, is essential in making your diet journey an experience you embrace and enjoy.

 

Orange Ginger Chicken

100g chicken – cut into 1″ chunks
orange – cut into quarters
2-3 cloves minced garlic
1 Tablespoon fresh ginger root (about 1/2″-1″ long piece, peeled & minced)
1/2 teaspoon basil
juice of half lemon
Salt and pepper to taste

Preheat non-stick pan over medium heat. Sprinkle chicken with salt and pepper. Add chicken to pan and stir fry until brown on all sides, about 5-10 minutes. Add garlic and cook for another minute. Squeeze juice of orange quarters over chicken. Peel & separate orange into sections. Add orange sections, ginger, lemon juice, and basil. Stir well. Cover and simmer for about 15-20 mins or until cooked through. NOTE: This includes your protein and fruit portion for this meal.
